Position Summary
ZHCx is seeking a suitable candidate for a full-time Commissioning Agent position. The Commissioning Agent is responsible for the execution of the building commissioning processes, energy auditing and building retrofit applications, support for sustainability certification applications, and measurement and verification techniques.

Ability to cope with shift work as well as evening and weekend hours, because this is often required where equipment is in 24-hour operation.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Execution of standard building commissioning processes for new and existing construction as found in ASHRAE Guidelines.

Performance of ASHRAE Level 1, 2, and 3 Energy Audits.

Scopes of work to include a variety of building components including mechanical, plumbing, electrical distribution, and lighting.

Support for obtaining building sustainability certifications such as LEED, Energy Star, etc.

Proficient communication and organization skills are necessary to conduct meetings, coordinate schedules, and prepare reports.

Making improvements to and offering advice about operational procedures

Scheduling and coordinating work to strict deadlines
-
Ensuring that equipment works to its specification
-
Creating and carrying out test procedures
-
Investigating problems, diagnosing/repairing faults
-
Troubleshooting

Liaising with installation/project engineers
-
Supervising engineering and technical staff
-
Writing reports and documentation
-
Providing technical support
-
Ensuring safe working conditions
-
Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate

Writing prefunctional and functional testing checklists
-
Implementing and overseeing on-site testing
-
Supporting commissioning authorities
-
A mixture of office and onsite time.
Qualifications and Training Required
-
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or equivalent field or industry experience is required.

Certified Commissioning Agent CxA, PE, LEED AP or TAB certification is a plus.

2 years of field and commissioning experience in commercial construction industry.

Experience with commercial HVAC and Lighting systems and/or commissioning related experience.

Excellent computer skills including; Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, and typing.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required.

Ability to climb ladders/stairs and to lift and carry loads in excess of 20 lbs. Able to be on a job site for extended periods of time (8-10 hours).

Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel within a (typical) 150-mile radius of our Florence office. ZHCx will reimburse mileage.
